Marvin Novogrodski is a veteran performer whose career spans more than four decades across stage, film, television, commercials, dance, and children’s educational entertainment. Known to many families as “Marvelous Marvin,” he has brought joy, wonder, and curiosity to audiences throughout New England and beyond with his unique blend of magic, science, circus arts, and poetry-based performances
Marvin’s work as Marvelous Marvin has reached hundreds of schools, libraries, theaters, museums, festivals, and community events, captivating young learners with interactive shows that make math and science unforgettable through juggling, magic, movement, and song. His engaging educational programs, ranging from “The Magic of Science” to “Mathblast” and “Brain Circus” turn discovery into delight while encouraging imaginative exploration and active participation.
A consummate stage artist, Marvin has also sustained a remarkable presence in the world of theater and dance. For 27 years he was a central company member of Everett Dance Theatre in Providence, RI, collaborating as an actor, dancer, and administrator on original productions such as Flight, The Science Project, Body of Work, and Brainstorm. The company’s work toured nationally, earning grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, and appeared in prestigious venues like Jacob’s Pillow, Dance Theater Workshop (NYC), and Central Park SummerStage.)
In recent years Marvin has broadened his artistic reach to film and television, with credits in independent features and shows including Frannie, Blood Bond, Cotton Fever, and the History Channel’s The Food That Built America. He also appears in commercials and industrial productions, showcasing his versatility and camera presence across genres.
Marvin continues to share his talents with live audiences. His current stage work includes performances in The Wilbury Theatre Group’s production of The Father, a compelling drama presented by one of Providence’s boldest theatre companies, and in Burbage Theatre Company’s Witching Hour Social Club, a world-premiere ensemble piece showcasing his range in contemporary theater.
