Stephanie Faria is a Rhode Island–based theatre artist whose love for performance began long before she ever stepped on a stage. As a child, she filled her home with Disney songs, memorized obscure movie lines, and instinctively gravitated toward storytelling. By middle school she had found her way into theatre, and by the time she graduated high school, her commitment to the craft was unmistakable. Theatre wasn’t just an interest — it was a calling.

Stephanie earned her BA in English (Creative Writing) and General Theatre from Rhode Island College, where she trained in acting, directing, stage management, makeup, set design, and theatre for young audiences. She later completed her MA in Theatre Education/Applied Theatre at Emerson College, deepening her expertise in drama as education, documentary theatre, Theatre of the Oppressed, and student‑centered creative practice. Her academic path reflects her passion for using theatre as both an artistic and educational tool.

As a performer, Stephanie has appeared in principal and supporting roles, including Paul in Almost, Maine with East End Theatre & Performing Arts and Witch/Ensemble in Macbeth with Rhode Island College’s Traveling Theatre Productions. Her work onstage is matched by an extensive directing portfolio: Curtain Call Youth Theatre at the East Providence Public Library (2023–present), East End Theatre and Performing Arts (2020–2022), Center for Dynamic Learning (2016–2017), and the Mohawks program at the East Providence Boys and Girls Club (2016–2020). Across these organizations, she has guided young performers, built creative communities, and championed accessible theatre education.

Stephanie brings a wide range of skills to her work — from playwriting and adaptation to ballet and ballroom basics, stage makeup, multilingual communication, and a playful command of accents. As a Portuguese American artist standing proudly at 4'11", she brings a distinctive presence, a generous spirit, and a deep commitment to nurturing the next generation of theatre makers.

Above all, Stephanie believes in the transformative power of theatre for children and youth. Her goal is to continue creating spaces where young people can explore, imagine, and discover their voices through the art form that has shaped her life.
